Kevin Spacey Gala

This is not news, but rather a SALUTE to Kevin Spacey for his dedication to the arts and developing artists in many corners of the world.  The Gala will honour the actor, director and producer’s extraordinary contribution to The Old Vic and to British theatre on Sunday 19 April 2015.  Hosted by Hugh Bonneville, the celebration will bring together a host of Spacey’s theatrical friends and colleagues, including musical performances from Annie Lennox, Peter Cincotti and Sting.

The Gala will also feature appearances from Niamh Cusack, Sinead Cusack, Lisa Dillon, Mark Gatiss, Robert Glenister, Haydn Gwynne, Gemma Jones, Elizabeth McGovern, Colin Morgan, Julian Ovenden, Neil Pearson, Tim Pigott-Smith, Annabel Scholey, Stephen Tompkinson, Luke Treadaway, Fenella Woolgar and more.

There will also be a performance from Old Vic New Voices, the theatre’s mentoring programme for emerging talent. Kevin’s commitment to the programme through education and community work has made a real difference to the lives of 100,000 young people and local residents in one of London’s most deprived boroughs.

Mr. Spacey believes it is important for those who have been successful to “Send the Elevator Back Down.”

  1. We can hope we will be treated to glimpses of the performances, perhaps on YouTube. It will be a glorious evening and a fitting tribute to Kevin Spacey’s contributions to the Arts.

That new pic–what can you say? Totally speechless!

    • OMG! I had to pick my chin up off my desk! It almost doesn’t look like him! But it is, because it’s gorgeous! He looks so much older in this photo. Of course, I’ve saved it. 😀 As well as the other one – the one with the massive smile. 🙂

Operating off my ipad, no desk to fall onto–more like the floor! A day or two ago swore I was going to stop using Colin pics as wallpaper. Well, that one just totally flew out the window! Sometimes a bit embarrassing when DD uses my phone, but what the heck! Plus she’s pretty much on to me at this point. And the one with Mark Gatiss! What a pair!

  3. Yes, my list of favourite photos of Colin is getting longer, with three vying for top spot now. 🙂 I’m hoping there will be some clips, if not the whole event, uploaded to YouTube. It sounds like it was quite the tribute. I was watching a variety of Twitter comments online as it was unfolding.
